Willie Brock Miller

Willie Brock Miller, 98, of Whitmire SC, passed away peacefully at her home on September 10, 2026. She was born February 23, 1928 in Whitmire, SC. to the late George Dewey Brock Sr. and Lucille Bridges Brock.

Willie was a 1945 graduate of Whitmire High School, a member of Whitmire Presbyterian Church where she was actively involved in the Fannie Simpson Circle, Ladies Bible Class, as well as teaching Sunday School and Bible School. In 1996, Willie was honored with Life Membership of the Presbyterian Women. During the 1950’s she enjoyed her time as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

She retired from J.P. Stevens & Co., Inc. after 33 years of service. Her latest positions

were Assistant Manager of Personnel and Supply Manager. She also retired from SCDDSN (Whitten Center) after eight years as Admin. Specialist in Personnel and Payroll.

Willie was the widow of Henry Martin Miller, Sr. They were married for 37 years.

She is survived by two children, Lyn Miller Gilliam and Henry Martin Miller, Jr. (Michelle), five grandchildren, Ryan Cordell Gilliam (Amber), Lyndsay Grace Gilliam, Miller Joseph Gilliam, Thomas Martin Miller and Cole Brock Miller (Caitlin), and five great grandchildren, Baker Robbins Miller, Bradley Cordell Gilliam, Lennon Nicole Gilliam, Callie Mae Miller, and soon to be Cooper Brock Miller.

She is survived by five siblings, Grace Brock Bradley, Anne Brock Smith, Linda Dale Brock, Jean Brock Alewine, and Melvin Brock.

She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Amy Gilliam Thomas (Jed), Brooke Gilliam Matthews (Neil), Dustin McKee, Jenna Baker, Catherine Baker, her step great-grandchildren, Jesse Thomas, Kate Matthews, Audrey Matthews, Samantha Hartley (Trey), Wyatt Shirey, Sawyer Shirey, and Ava Shirey. Also surviving are her step great- great grandchildren, Adalynn Hartley and soon to be Wylie Hartley.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by eight siblings, Phyllis Jane Brock, George Dewey Brock, Jr., Don Roland Brock, Larry Thomas Brock, Myrtle Marie Brock, Oliver David Brock, Jack Gilbert Brock, and Barbara Brock Mitchell. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law Danny Gilliam, daughter-in-law Rhonda Miller, and step- grandson Jordan Baker.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm Monday, September 14, 2026, at Whitmire Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the Whitmire Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm prior to the service.
