William Jerome Johnson, age 61, of Clinton, died Thursday, January 23, 2014.
He was born in Greenville and was the son of the late Otis Johnson, Sr., and Betty R. Johnson.
William lived at Whitten Center for 40 years. He enjoyed going to the Campus Adult Activity Center where he worked on various programs. He seemed to enjoy sitting in groups and having personal attention from the staff. He liked going on bus rides, chapel services on Sunday and going out in the community for dinner and snacks. He will be missed by all of the staff at Whitten Center that worked with him every day.
William is also survived by a sister, Alberta Gambrell; two brothers, Albert Johnson, along with his wife, Rebecca Johnson, and Gerald Johnson; a sister-in-law, Donna Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Jackie Johnson and Otis Johnson, Jr., and a sister, Janice Marie Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31st at 3:00 p.m. at Brooker-Blakely All Faith Chapel, with burial at the Whitten Center Cemetery.
