William Burdette "Papa Billy" Davis, Jr.

William Burdette “Papa Billy” Davis Jr, 78, husband to Guynelle Davis, who was the love of his life for 52 years, left this earth for his heavenly reward with his wife by his side. Billy was born in Laurens to the late Bill Davis and Anne Craine.

Billy was lovingly known to most as Papa. Billy will always be remembered as an avid car fanatic and was well known in Laurens for his body work and restoration of classic cars. You could often find him either working on one of his many beloved cars or a crossword puzzle. But, as much as he loved classic cars, he loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior more. Papa Billy was a beloved member of Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years.

To cherish his memory and keep it alive, in addition to his wife Guynelle, are his daughter Melissa Moody (Jim), granddaughter Victoria Anderson (Randy), grandson Damian Moody, and his great granddaughter Elissa Marie. In addition to his parents, Billy is predeceased by a brother, Johnny.

The family will receive friends at Gray Funeral Home of Laurens on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Sharon Pentecostal on Wednesday, December 3rd at 12 PM with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Teddy Chubb and Rev. Randy Anderson to be officiating.
