Wallace W. (Papa Wallace) Alexander, age 72, of 781 Church Street, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Union County and was a son of the late Robert W. and Beatrice McMillian Alexander.
Mr. Wallace was a US Navy Veteran and former Police Chief of Whitmire; he was also a Mason, Shriner, a member of the Good Fellows, The First Baptist Church and The American Legion
He was an avid outdoorsmen and loved hunting and fishing, and was a wonderful family man.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Gilliam Alexander of the home; his son, Ricky Alexander (Janet) of Newberry and Todd Alexander (Wista) of Whitmire; his brothers, Robert “Buck” Alexander (Nancy) of Whitmire and Jerry Alexander (Phillis) of Pauline; his grandchildren, Rodney (Rebecca) and Brandon (Kayla) Alexander, Jena Ray and Mallory McKee; and five great-grandchildren, that he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of Whitmire with burial in Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
