Tony Mitchell Morgan, age 51, of 6307 Rye Mill Court, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Prosperity, SC and was the son of Christine Morgan Corley and step-father, Bill Corley, of Joanna, and the late Jack D. Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Clinton High School, received his undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College and his graduate degree from Institute of Textile Technology. While at PC he was active in the ROTC and a brother in the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was honorable discharged from the Army Reserves in 1992. He was an avid golfer and was proud to say he had never missed a Presbyterian College Homecoming after his graduation. He was a former employee of Milliken Company, the Senior Research and Developmental Manager of Highland Industries and the commissioner of the Golf League for Highland Industry. He attended Calvary Assembly Church in Greensboro, NC.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Susan Patton Morgan of the home; his step-sister, Donna Corley Wicker of Clinton, three nieces, Mikailla, Katie and Madison, and one nephew, Matthew.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16th at 2 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends before the service from 12 to 2 PM at the funeral home.
