Dateline – Clinton
J. Tom Cooper, age 93, widower of Sarah Pearson Cooper, passed away at Laurens Memorial Hospital on July 30, 2016.
He was born in Lanford and was the son of the late Clarence Bobo and Grace Pearson Cooper. Mr. Cooper served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was the owner of a retail grocery business, a member of Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church, a lay speaker for 32 years, and a member of the Methodist Men and Administration Board.
Mr. Cooper was survived by his brother, Fred Cooper (Lorene), three sisters, Irene Dover, Carolyn Satterfield, Martha Cooper, a special friend, Doris Burch.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Clarence Bobo Cooper, Jr., Henry Cooper; and his sister, Edna Holmes.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., at Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
