Thomas "Tom" Lloyd White

Thomas “Tom” Lloyd White, age 78, of Clinton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Prisma Health – Laurens County Hospital.

He was born August 1, 1948 in Clarksburg, WV, and was the son of the late James Cramer White and Ressie Oma Queen White. Tom proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier as a Petty Officer. Upon honorable discharge, he first worked for Texaco, then spent the majority of his career working for Michelin Tire. He retired from his position as Safety Manager at the Michelin Laurens Distribution Center in 2013.

After retirement, Tom’s spirit of service shone through as he worked with United Ministries for about ten years, first serving as a volunteer, and then a part-time employee.

Tom was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Laurens.

He is survived by Donna June Jackson, his wife of 45 years; and his children: Grechin Lynn Goodman (Dale) of Loganville, GA; Aaron James White (Kara) of Bennington, Nebraska; and Bonnie June White Boyce (Barry) of Clinton, SC. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren (Derek Piper, Brandon Piper, Janey Boyce, Owen White, Travis Boyce, Rebecca White, Leona Boyce, Dennis Boyce, David Boyce, Annmarie Boyce, and Diana Boyce), four great-grandchildren (Dean Piper, Dylan Piper, James Piper, and Claire Piper), a whole host of beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, James Cramer White, Jr., Joseph L. White, and Scott H. White.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
