Teresa Crist Hartman

Teresa Crist Hartman, age 94, passed away, Monday, January 26, 2026 at Langston Square.

She was born on September 4, 1931 in Washington, DC, and was the daughter of the late Duval Lee and Ariel Sherier Crist. Teresa was a graduate of Western High school in Washington, DC, and worked as a secretary for Veteran’s Affairs. Teresa was also a talented watercolor artist.

Teresa is survived by her husband of 39 years, James Jay “Jim” Hartman; her daughter, Teresa “Terri” Corelitz and her husband Jeff of Annapolis, MD; her stepchildren, James Hartman, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, David Hartman of Greenville and Elizabeth Smith and her husband Daniel of Irmo. Teresa also leaves behind six grandchildren, Nicholas DeVaughn, JP Hartman, Bobby Hartman, Calvin Smith, Collin Smith and Cordelia Smith; as well as her sister, Arlene Schmidt of Gainesville, FL.

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria “Vicki” Stephan.

A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date.
