Susan "Susie" Sease Vaughan

Susan “Susie” S. Vaughan, age 71, went peacefully to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at NHC Healthcare of Clinton.

She was born in Clinton, South, Carolina on December 18. 1954 and was the second child of the late Dick M. Vaughan, Jr. and Josephine “Jo” Copeland Vaughan.

Although Susie didn’t have many hobbies, she spent most of her adult life working to provide for her two sons and grandchildren with a full time job and two part-time jobs. Susie retired from Whitten Center after 28 years of loyal service. Susie was known to be the “life of the party.”

Susie is survived by her son; James “Jamie” Miller (Elizabeth) of Chappells; her brother, Bluford Vaughan (Teresa); her sister, Cathy Dailey (Don); her grandchildren, Lindsay Miller, Carmen Goforth (Michael), Jay Miller, Vayda Miller, Cali Miller, Ashton Smith (Justin), Johnna Miller, Zoey Miller, Riley Miller; her great-grandchildren, Layton and Rynn Goforth; several nieces and nephews; her special longtime friends, Regina McFerrin and Melanie Young.

In addition to her parents, Susie is preceded in death by her son, Joseph “Joey” Barron Miller and her brother, Dick “Brother” M. Vaughan, III.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Mr. Buddy Bridges officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton prior to the service.
