Steven Lynn

Steven Lynn of Cross Hill, SC went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2025. His passing leaves a huge empty space in the hearts of all who knew him, but especially to his wife of 54 years, Jan, and their children, Heather Woody (husband Mark) and Holly Hill (husband Dustin); and his grandchildren Ashley Woody, Justin Woody, Parker Hill, and Cooper Hill.

Steve was born on the Southside of Chicago to first generation Polish parents Steve Lynn, Sr and Helen. The family moved to the Chicago suburb of Naperville where Steve and his brothers Wally Lynn and Rich Lynn spent their formative years. Steve went on to graduate from Illinois Benedictine College, marry his bride Jan, and begin a lifetime of business activities which inevitably led him and his family to Lincolnton, North Carolina. Always a hard worker, Steve was engaged in occupation well into his 70s until just recently retiring, along with Jan (who also just recently retired). The newly retired couple found their retirement home on the banks of Lake Greenwood near Cross Hill, SC where they spent these last few months soaking in the beauty and hospitality of their new home and community.

Steve was unique in so many ways. He was a man of few words, quick witted, wise, and dependable. He loved the Lord with all his heart and mind. He served as an elder in his church for many years and was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. Steve was an avid sports fan, especially of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs. He also was diligent in maintaining his own fitness by spending many hours in the gym. He was seldom still but always calm, especially in the midst of a storm.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
