Sidney "Sid" Alvin Oswald

Sidney “Sid” Alvin Oswald, 78, of 146 Cedar Street passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Oswald was born in Laurens and was a son of the late J.C. and Sara Whelchel Oswald.
Sid was a retired self-employed carpenter and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He will be remembered as a loving husband, daddy and papa.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Claudine Howell Oswald; his sons, Aaron Whitt (Brenda) and Terry Oswald (LeeAnn); his daughters, Vicky Wilson (Thomas), Frances Nichols (Tim), Nina Sturkey (Michael), Evelyn Whelchel (Tracy); thirteen grandchildren, Tonya Aria, Matthew Wilson, Charlie Whitt, Stacy Collins, Joshua Wilson, Steven Whitt, Justin Oswald, Gina Oswald, Stephanie Wilson, Erin Motes, Anna Phillips, Deana Estes and Debra Estes; and his 31 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Oswald was predeceased by a daughter Terry Roxanne Whitt, brother James Oswald, and great-granddaughter Aubrieana Wilson.
A crypt side service will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Pinelawn Memory Garden Mausoleum Chapel.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Pinelawn Memory Garden Mausoleum Chapel.
