Shirley A. "Nanny" Nelson
August 20, 1936 — June 17, 2016
Shirley A. “Nanny” Nelson, age 79, went home to be with her husband, Mack F. Nelson, Jr. and her Lord and Savior Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Gray Court and was the daughter of the late Fred Louis Tumblin and Georgia Etta Satterfield Tumblin. She was a deeply caring and loving woman, especially of her family and her church.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by her three daughters, Julia Fennell (Steve), Valerie Nelson, and Maxine Coates; four grandchildren, Todd Fennell, Jadie Coates, Kate Cheeks (Marcus), Jack Wells (fiancé Celeste); two beloved great-grandchildren, Kailey and Khloe Cheeks; and two special granddaughters, Michelle Henderson and Julie Wideman.
She is predeceased by her daughter Janis Wells.
Memorial service will be held Monday, June 20 at 2 PM at the Community Baptist Church, the family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Community Baptist Church, or the Hospice House of Laurens County, PO Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325.
