Sarah Edith "Granny" Dees

Sarah Edith “Granny” Dees, 89, of Laurens, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of Clinton on August 3, 2026.

Sarah was born on May 3, 1937, in Clinton, South Carolina, to the late Owen Charles and Janie Rebecca Tucker Dees. She was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord deeply and treasured her family above all else. Her love, strength, and devotion to those around her will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sarah was formerly employed at Clinton Mills, Plant #1, where she dedicated more than 30 years of her life to her work. She took great pride in providing for and caring for her family throughout the years.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Sarah is survived by her sons, Owen Dees (Regina) and Chris Dees (Tina); grandchildren, Lance Dees (Diana) and Amber Dees Merchant (Jason); and step-grandson, Michael Franks (Kaylea).

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Adrianne Dees Wilson and Gage Dees, who were raised in her home along with Jaiven Roberson, Michael Dees, Landon Dees, Logan Dees, Hunter Dees, and Jude Franks. Her legacy continues through her great-great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Wynter, and Autumn Wilson. She also leaves behind her beloved fur babies, who brought her companionship and joy throughout the years.

She is also survived by family friend Chris Jackson, who was a cherished part of her life and family.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Westview Memorial Park.

Sarah was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Rory Dees; two sisters; and four brothers.

Sarah’s life was defined by faith, family, hard work, and love. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her love in their hearts. Though she will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved Sarah can find comfort in knowing that her life was a blessing to her family and that the love she gave so freely will live on through the generations who follow her.

She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her memory will remain a treasured part of the family she loved so dearly, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
