Sandra Turner Walker, age 83, of Laurens, widow of Larry A. Walker, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at Hospice of Laurens County.
Born June 8, 1942 in Covington, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Henry Turner, Sr. and Ella Crain Turner.
She was known in her community as a force of wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith-a true 'jack of all trades' in the ways that mattered most. Her gifts were not measured in titles, but in the countless lives she touched. Whether offering a listening ear, sharing words of encouragement, lending a helping hand, or guiding others spiritually, she carried a presence that brought comfort and strength to those around her.
Deeply rooted in her beliefs, she walked through life with steadfastness, often putting others before herself. She had a unique ability to meet people where they were and in times of hardship, she was a steady light; in moments of joy and during trials. She celebrated fully with those she loved.
Her legacy lives on not just in memories, but in lessons she passed along-faith, resilience, generosity, and love. She leaves behind a community forever changed by her presence, and a reminder that a life lived with purpose does not need recognition to be extraordinary.
She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy W. Privette (Alan) of Waterloo; her granddaughter, Maggie Abbott McMahon (Matt); and two special nieces, Melody Davenport, and Elizabeth Weatherford.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 46 years, Larry; and her siblings, Irias T Spoone, Albert Turner, Jr., and Melvina T Howle.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Shiflet officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery officiated by Rev. Todd Polatty.
The family will greet visitors 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service in the children’s wing of the Church.
