Samuel “Sam” Jerome McCall, Sr. age 79, husband of Sandra C. Bull McCall, passed away, Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his home.
He was born on March 24, 1946 in Inman, South Carolina and was the son of the late Andrew McCall and Sophie Mae McDonald McCall. Sam retired from Fluor Daniel Construction, a proud US Army Vietnam Veteran 1st Infantry Division, a member of the DAV Chapter 3 Frank Montgomery and traveled from coast to coast.
Sam is survived by his wife of 55 years, his daughter, Tina Knight of Greenville; his new fur baby, CheChea; his sister, Shirley Hawkins of Lockhart, his grandchildren, Leigh Knight, Jacob McCall, Alex McCall (Olivia), Austin McCall(fiancée Raven), Matt McCall (Makayla), Andy McCall (Alexia); his one great-grandchild (Rhyland McCall); his brother-in-law, Windsor Graham (Jenny); his sisters-in-law, Anita McKee, Jean Blackwell, Inez Roberts, Martha Hall (Frank); special friends, Terry and Judy Knight.
In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his sons, Donnie McCall and Sam McCall, Jr.; his two fur babies, Precious and CheChe; his siblings, John David McCall, Greenberry McCall, Frank McCall, Jessie McCall, Billy McCall, Ernest McCall, Lona Petty, Mary Hurley, Andrew McCall, Louise McCall.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Mike Cambpell and Pastor Ruben Williamson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will greet friends Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of Spartanburg for the love and care given to Sam.
