She was born in Tignall, GA on March 26, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Luther Eugene Cason, Jr. and Sarah Wright Cason.
Roslyn graduated from Clinton High School in three years and Winthrop College in three years with a BA degree in English. She then served 43 years as Registrar at Presbyterian College. After leaving that position in 1989, she spent another 31 years working at the Laurens County Advertiser. Although the Covid epidemic briefly slowed her down, she soon resumed work by making Door Dash deliveries. Roslyn was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton for 87 years—one of its oldest members—and participated in the WMU, GA's, served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the adult choir, attended the Faith Sunday School class, belonged to the Sarah Cason Circle, which was named for her mother, and joined the VIPs. She was also a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, recently honored as the longest consecutive member, along with involvement in the Carolina Wren Garden Club, former membership in the Clemson Beautification Organization, and the Mountville Grange.
Described as a “social butterfly,” Roslyn thrived on meeting people, engaging in conversation and delighted in learning about people.
She is survived by her daughter, Roslyn Cason Martin, of the home; her son, Rawlinson Earl (Buddy) Martin, Jr. of Carnesville, GA; and four grandchildren, Jeremy D. Martin, Caleb A. Brock, Mariah N.
