Ronnie Garner

Ronnie Garner, 74, of Whitmire, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on May 11, 2025. Born on March 16, 1951, he was the beloved son of the late Herbert Ford Garner and Helen Peigler Garner.

Ronnie was a devoted husband to Sandra Garner, his wife of nearly 56 years. Together, they built a loving family that includes their son, Ronald Garner (Kelly) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and their daughter, Dana Garner Addis (Josh) of Union, South Carolina. He was a proud grandfather (Pop-Pop) to Colby Garner, Caroline Garner, Chloe Garner, Makayla Addis and Brody Addis, who will always cherish his memory.

Ronnie was the brother of the late Danny Garner, Kenneth Peigler and Linda Helton, and is survived by his brother, Terry Garner (Darla) of Whitmire and his sister, Patsy Shetley (David) of Union.

Dedicated member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church, Ronnie faithfully served as a deacon for 23 years, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his faith and community. He was a man of integrity, known for his work ethic and his love for the outdoors. An avid deer hunter and skilled carpenter, he found joy in wood working and spent countless hours crafting with his hands.

Ronnie worked at Cone Mills in Carlisle for 19 years, later at JP Stevens and Renfro Corporation in Whitmire, South Carolina, and eventually became self-employed.

He was a man’s man – strong, dependable, and fiercely loyal to those he loved. He was also a devoted companion to his loyal dogs, Jack and Bandit, who preceded him in death.

Ronnie’s legacy of faith, family and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Whitmire, South Carolina, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Whitmire Cemetery.
