Ronald "Ronnie" Richardson

Ronald “Ronnie” Richardson, age 79, husband of Jean Jennings Richardson, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Prisma Health Laurens Memorial Hospital.

He was born on December 26, 1946 in Newberry, South Carolina and was the son of the late Virgil Richardson and Helen Rhinehart Richardson.

Ronnie was a retired US Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He later retired for the US Postal Service. He was a faithful member of the Joanna Church of God, where he served as the church clerk and sang on the praise team. Ronnie enjoyed his family time, traveling, fishing and auctions.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Jean of 57 years; his son, Ted Richardson (Amanda); his daughter, Shana Hammond (Mykel); his sister, Diane Crumpton; his grandchildren, Kelsey Blakley (Braylyn), Kalen Richardson, Kinley Poston (Tyler), Konner Richardson, Roman Hammond, Lundon Hammond; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Waylon.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Derrick.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Joanna Church of God with Rev. Mykel Hammond, Rev. Gene Wooten, and Rev. James Goldsmith officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
