Robert Christopher Wayne passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 surrounded by his family at the Hospice House of Laurens County. He is survived by his wife Annabel of 46 years, his daughter, Hilary (Howard) Hunter, and his name sake, grandson Robert Hunter.
Robert held a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He spent his working career at National Gypsum. He was proud to be a Marine Corps veteran.
Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He visited all 50 United States, including planning and visiting our major National Parks. He belonged to the Clemson Mycology Club, was an avid reader about the Civil War and listened to online courses on a number of topics daily, such as quantum physics, as he never stopped learning. He assisted anyone who asked for his help.
Robert will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family will hold a private ceremony, with a Celebration of Life to be held at later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Laurens County, PO Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325.
