Rev. Bryce Wendell Castle

Rev. Bryce W. Castle, age 82, widower of Sharon Maness Castle, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025.

He was born April 20, 1943 in Dante, VA and was a son of the late Henry F. Castle and Margaret Townes Castle. He earned a Bachelor Degree from East Tennessee State in Statistics and also attended Liberty Bible College. He retired after 33 years from Torrington Bearing Manufacturing Company as the H.R. Director. He was the Pastor for 23 years of Friendship Baptist Church before retiring in 2003 and was a founding member of Lakeside Baptist Church. He was also retired from the S.C. National Guard.

Rev. Castle is survived by his daughters, Melanie Berry (David) of Union and Christy Fincher (David) of Greenville; his four grandchildren, Ethan Fincher (Brianna), Arlen Fincher, Joshua Berry (Ashley), and Whitney Berry; his great-grandchildren, Bryce Fincher, River Berry, and Rowan Berry; his sister-in-law, Barbara Maness Wallen; his nephews, Dennis Wallen and Lane Maness; his sister-in-heart, Karen McMorris; a special friend, Mark English and special neighbors, David and Susan Hunnicutt.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Monica Renee Castle; his brothers, Benny Lee Castle and Robert Doyle Castle.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 3 PM at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. John North, Mr. Mark English, and Mr. Joshua Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:30 PM at the church.
