Raymond "Bo" Charles Ellison, Sr.

Raymond “Bo” Charles Ellison, Sr., age 80, went to meet his Lord and Master on Monday, October 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 28, 1945, in Whitmire, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Earl Ellison and Anna Rhodes Ellison.

Bo was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church for over a decade, serving faithfully as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon. A proud member of the Roseboro AFM Lodge #195 in Whitmire for more than 50 years, he also belonged to the York Rite of Union and Hejaz Temple. Known for his jovial spirit, Bo was a Hillbilly with the Hillbilly Clan #2. His work life included thirty-eight and a half years at Cone Mills, five years with the SC Department of Corrections, and fourteen and a half years at the Recycle Center in Prosperity.

Bo's faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him and inspiring those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Crisp Ellison; his son, Ray Ellison, Jr. (Susan); his daughters, Crystal Stevens (Shannon) and Rebecca Renea Ellison, all of Whitmire, along with two stepdaughters, Dianne Phillips and Kathleen Gilmore (Greg); and his sisters, Elaine Ellison and Edith Nelson. Bo is also survived by his grandchildren; William Lominick (Emily), Alex Ellison (Logan), Anna Lominick, Caylee Claytor (Danny), Mak Lominick (James), Lynlee Beaman (Justin); step-grandchildren Johnathon and Nick Beach, Cassidy, Kristen, and Claira Siriphong and Gracie Gilmore; great-grandchildren, Cayden and Colter Claytor, Lawson Ellison and Walker “Walter” Beaman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Helen Ellison Nickles, Joyce Mull; and his two grandchildren, Austin Gambrell and Alex Lanier.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Johnson, Rev. Wayne Tobias, and Rev. Wayne Harsha officiating. Burial with Masonic Rights will take place at Whitmire Cemetery.

The family will greet visitors Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Church.

The family will be at the residence of his son, Ray Ellison., 172 Old Airport Rd, Whitmire, SC 29178.

In memory of Bo, donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church 2247 Little Egypt Road, Whitmire, SC 29178 or Whitmire Fire Department, P.O. Box 213, Whitmire, SC 29178.
