Merle L. Bailey, age 86, of 114 Lynn Ave., passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015, at his home.
He was born in Winterset, Iowa, and was a son of the late Willis Dailey and Nana Alcorn Bailey.
Mr. Bailey retired from B. F. Shaw and was a member of Living Church of God in Anderson, SC. He was an US Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Bailey; two sons, Dan Bailey and David Bailey; a daughter, Diane Bailey; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jerry) Ardis, Keith (Simone) Bailey, Becky Bailey, and Eric Bailey; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a stepson, Randy (Melissa) Stevens; a stepdaughter, Jan (Rock) Overstreet; four step-grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd (Louise) Bailey, Marvin (Lou) Bailey, and Paul (Thelma) Bailey; three sisters, Ella Reed, Irene (Lloyd) Osborne, and Dee (Don) Wray; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Bailey.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at Westview Memorial Park.
