Meridith “Mert” Wilson Hanley, age 62 of 11561 Hwy 56 passed away Sunday, October 30th at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.
He was born in Clinton, SC and was a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Pearlie Mae Cooper Hanley.
Mr. Hanley was a former employee of B.F. Shaw where he was a welder. He enjoyed working on his motorcycles, playing music, and was always good with his hands.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Tomlinson Hanley of the home; his three children, James Micah Hanley of Cross Anchor, Jesse Alonzo Hanley (Covington Lee Avent Hanley) of Knoxville, TN, Maggie Mae Hanley of Cross Anchor and a grandson, Colten Lee Foster.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four brothers: J.B. Hanley, Roy Edward Hanley, William Robert Hanley and John Henry Hanley.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
