Mary Elizabeth (Rorie) Daniels

Mary Elizabeth (Rorie) Daniels, age 94, passed away, Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at The Artisan of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.

She was born in Lilesville, NC on April 28, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Willie T. Rorie and Edna Gaddy Rorie. Mrs. Daniels was a graduate of Pheiffer College and a longtime member of Broad Street United Methodist Church in Clinton, where she was active for more than 40 years. She sang in the Church choir, participated in Circle 5 group, and was involved with the Church’s Fun, Food, and Fashion show. She also enjoyed volunteering at Hospice of Laurens County.

Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James H. “Jim” Daniels, III, and survived by her three daughters, Janet Needham (Aaron) of Kernersville, NC, Ann Watson (Marty) of Mt Pleasant, SC, and Lisa Shell (Brad) of Kernersville, NC; as well as, five grandchildren, Samantha Smoak (Michael), Ashlyn Lisk (Justin), Austin Shell, Victoria Watson, and Christopher Shell, and four great-grandchildren, Mary Kate, and Hudson Smoak, and Beckett and Tatum Lisk.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Keck and Rev. Jeanie Swanson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the Church.
