Martha "Mot" Ellen Samples

Martha (Mot) Ellen Samples, age 70, of 100 Houser Circle, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Laurens County and was a daughter of the late Weston Harold and Frances Virginia Morgan Mattison.
Ms. Samples was a former employee of Asten Press; worked as a private sitter; enjoyed working at the Laurens County Hospice Store in Clinton and a member of New Beginning Church of God of Prophecy. She was very proud of making sleeping mats and clothing for the homeless and for the Mission Field.
She was the widow of Louis Raymond Samples and is survived by her son Larry Samples of Greenville; her daughters Barbara Allen of Travelers Rest, Ellen Tierce of Williamston, and Christy James of Pelzer; her sister Linda Gail Reed of Laurens; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son Rev. Eddie Samples, three sisters and one brother.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Feb 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
