Marigene (Mary) Cleveland Smith

Marigene (Mary) Cleveland Smith, 87, of Laurens and formerly of North Charleston, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 14, 2015, at NHC Healthcare of Clinton.
She was born in Elberton, GA and was a daughter of the late Doctor Mell Cleveland and Elizabeth Richardson Cleveland. She was a retired employee of Piggly Wiggly, Hanahan, SC and a member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Smith Hendricks and son-in-law, Richard Hendricks, of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Chris Cornelius and his wife, Suzanne, of Enoree and Jessica Cornelius Davis and her husband, Jason of Greenwood; four great-grandchildren, Austin Cornelius of Laurens, Reagan Cornelius and Bryson Cornelius, of Enoree and Zoey Harper Davis of Greenwood; three sisters, Frances Smith of Greenville, Betty Coats and Lovelace Compton, both of Laurens.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oran Laverne Smith, a daughter, Carol Laverne Smith and two brothers.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gray Funeral Home of Laurens. Graveside services will be held at Pinelawn Memory Gardens in Clinton.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 16 from 1-2 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home of Laurens.
