Margie Owings Williams

Margie Owings Williams, age 83, wife of Leonard “Gene“ Eugene Williams passed away Monday, December 15, 2025 at her home.

She was born on February 22, 1942 in Greenwood, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Maurice C. Owings and Sybil Ruthel Prince Owings. Margie was a retired teachers aid for 38 years and drove a school bus for 30 of those years. She was a faithful member of Wayside Baptist Church.

Margie is survived by her husband of 57 years, her sons, Michael Eugene Williams (Tiffany) of Murfreesboro, TN and Steve Ford of Laurens; her daughter, Debra Ford Hair (Dwayne) of Laurens; her sister, Shirley Robinson of Laurens; her seven grandchildren, Heather, Eric, Kaitlyn, Savannah, Lauren, Cadin, Caris and her two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ayden.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with Rev. Danny Settle officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
