Larry D. Summers

Larry D. Summers, age 72, of Clinton, SC, husband of Frankie Bryant Summers, passed away, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his home.

He was born September 18, 1952 in Clinton and was the son of Elizabeth “Tootsie” Wilson Ballew, and the late Dewey Summers. Larry dedicated his career to the painting and auto body repair business, and for the past 34 years, he was the proud owner and operator of Larry’s Body Shop in Laurens. He was well- known in his community for his hard work and dedication.

An avid fan of dirt track racing and NASCAR, Larry enjoyed drag racing in his younger days. Larry also loved his trips to the mountains. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend.

In addition to his wife, Larrry is survived by his children, Danny Summers (Claudia), Brian Summers (Leeann), both of Clinton, David Robinson (Elizabeth) of Alabama, Daniel Robinson (Nancy) of Gilbert, SC, and Elizabeth Owens of Clinton; his siblings, Cecil Wilson, Jr. (Debra) of Greenwood, Don Allen (Linda) of Shelby, NC. Vicki Patterson of Laurens, and Carolyn Shehan (Jim) of Shelby, NC; his grandchildren, Brandon Summers, Leah Paige Samples, Lucy Rhodes, Danielle Owens, Hannah Owens, Jude Robinson, Luke Robinson, Josie Robinson, Frida Robinson, and Jameson Robinson; and one great grandchild, Addy Rae Summers.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Chuck Wilson amd Tracy Wilson.

A Memorial Service will be held, 3:00 PM, Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Ben Rumph officiating.
