Larry Eugene Kirby

Larry Eugene Kirby, Age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 24th 2025 at his home in Clinton, South Carolina.

Larry was born in Laurens, South Carolina on March 13th,1949 to Eugene Kirby and Johnie Ruth Kirby Cash. He was a member of the Davidson Street Baptist Church.

Larry spent most of his life as a professional truck driver, where he logged over 3.8 million miles mostly hauling hazardous materials, with a perfect safety and traffic record.

First and foremost he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Larry had many hobbies and interests, most notably his love for automotive racing. He competitively raced remote control cars as well as being a professional wrecker driver at Lanier Speedway in Georgia, during his free time.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Michelle Smart Kirby, daughter, Ann Kirby Carson, son, Jonathan Kirby (Lisa), daughter, Megan Crowder (Kristin), daughter, Amy Kirby Eldridge (Daniel), and son, Morgan Crowder. He also has two granddaughters, three great grandchildren, and Four brothers-in-law.

In addition to his parents Larry was preceded by his sister, Janice Murphy, brother, Steve Kirby, and son, Scott Kirby.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday November 1st, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Davidson Street Baptist Church with Reverend Kenny Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2pm at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maintenance Fund of Davidson Street Baptist Church, PO Box 629 Clinton, SC.

Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is assisting the Kirby family with services.
