Larry Clifton Smith

Larry Clifton Smith, age 76, of Whitmire, passed away peacefully at the home of his nephew in Spartanburg on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

He was born on May 19, 1950 in Newberry, South Carolina and was the son of the late James Clifton Smith and Florence Caldwell Smith. Larry was a 1968 graduate of Whitmire High School. He was retired from Timken and a proud Mason and member of the Roseboro Masonic Lodge 195.

Larry is survived by his sister, Judy Smith Stroud; his grandchildren, James Poston, Jacob Poston, Joseph Poston; his nephews, Chris Stroud, Matt Stroud, Jamie Martin; his nieces, Misty McDaniel, Tracy Stroud, Stacy Strawn and Pam Martin Smith.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his children, Jason Smith and Amy Smith; his sister, Penny Martin.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Whitmire Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service.
