Kimberly "Kim" Nelson Watkins

Kimberly “Kim” Nelson Watkins, age 57, of Laurens, wife of Don Watkins, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at Prisma Health – Laurens County Hospital.

Born September 1, 1969 in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of Margaret Ruth Nelson and the late John Larry Nelson. Kim was employed with Laurens County Dispatch and Greenville County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. She loved great food and was a self-proclaimed foodie. Of all the things that brought Kim joy, nothing compared to the time she spent with family. She especially cherished her nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews. Kim had the big heart and a kind spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Don; her stepsons, Devin Watkins (Jennifer), Austin Watkins (Angela), and Justin Watkins (Lauren); her sister, Cynthia Quarles; her grandchildren, Huxtin Watkins, Kinsley Watkins, and Riley Watkins; her nieces and nephews, Tonya Quarles, Danielle Quarles, Blaine Quarles (Carly), and Trandon Siebert (Hailey); her great-nieces and nephews, Akyle Chapman, Dannilynn Hall, Caydence Quarles, Remi Quarles; and numerous cousins. Kim is also survived by her life-long friend, Denise Matthews.

The family would like to give special thanks to her cousins Sharon, Karon and Wendy for care given to Kim.

Graveside Services will be on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Darren Rood officiating.
