Josie Penland Rhodes

Josie Mobley Penland Rhodes, age 81, formerly of 443 Mt. Vernon Church Road, Laurens, SC, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, at NHC of Clinton.
She was born in Laurens and was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Theopa Mobley Penland.
Mrs. Rhodes was a former employee of the Laurens County Department of Disabilities and Special Needs and the Laurens Memorial Home. She was retired from the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Whitten Center.
She is survived by her son and his wife, James Andrew “Drew” Rhodes and Lynn Jenkins Rhodes; a grandson and his wife, Christopher Andrew “Chris” and Morgan Corley Rhodes; a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Rhodes; a great-grandson, Wells Andrew Rhodes; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special companion, Tom Peay.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at 3 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with private burial at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
The family will receive friends before the service, from 2 to 3 PM at the funeral home.
