Joseph Harley "Pete" Kitchens

Joseph Harley “Pete” Kitchens. 68, resident of 3353 Whitmire Highway, Joanna, South Carolina went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Bobby John and Frances “Tink” Kitchens. Pete was a graduate of Cornerstone Christian Academy and was a member of Shady Grove Presbyterian Church. He worked for many years, including at K-Wood, Asten Press (for 20 years), Fred Hayes Mobile Home Moving, and Whitten Center. He was a die-hard Clinton Red Devil fan and also loved to watch dirt track racing.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Lee Franklin Kitchens; a son, John Michael Kitchens (Lee Ann); and two granddaughters, Addyson and Avery Kitchens. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many friends and family members.

Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Wayne Kitchens.

Funeral Services will take place Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Norman Dover, Rev. Mark Entrekin and Mr. Buddy Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3 pm at the Church.

The family will be at the home, 3353 Whitmire Highway, Joanna, SC 29355.
