John William Reeder

John William Reeder, age 57, husband of Karen Irvin Reeder passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

John was born in Clinton, SC on October 15, 1967, a son of the late Janet Motte Reeder and Hubbard Reeder.

He worked several years a machinist with Torrington and Timken until its closing, finishing his machinist career at G.E. Aviation in Piedmont. John was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the American Legion Post 25 and the Rossie Walker Masonic Lodge 354. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed many hours at the lake boating and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 27 years are his children, Hannah Grace Reeder and Jordan William Reeder; his brothers, Leonard Ray Reeder and Charles Edward Reeder; father and mother-in-law, John Thomas and Joyce Watkins Irvin; brother-in-law, John Richard Irvin (Suzanne); his aunt, Peggy Wyatt and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Reeder and grandparents, William and Nora Motte.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, August 27 at 2:00 P.M. at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with Rev. Gray Stallworth officiating.

The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

A private burial will be held at the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
