Jimmie “Jim” M. Harlan, age 85, husband of June Smith Harlan, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 30, 1939 in Lanford Station, South Carolina and was the son of the late Benjamin Mason Harlan and Amaryllis Cox Harlan. Jim retired from Byars Machine Shop as plant manager. He was a lifetime member of Lanford Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir, was a former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of the Enoree Masonic Lodge and Hejaz Shrine Temple. In his spare time, he loved to garden and tinker with cars.
In addition to his “high school sweetheart” of 65 years, Jim is survived by his sons, David Harlan (Nancy) of Greer and Steve Harlan (Tammy) of Enoree; his daughters, Teresa Crowder (Tim) of Gray Court and Ann Holscher (Tom) of Simpsonville; his brother, Alvin Ray Harlan (Karen) of Woodruff; his ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, George Harlan, Don Harlan and Hugh Harlan.
Private Funeral Services will be held for Jim. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
