Jessie Tankersley Cooper Sinclair

Jessie Tankersley Cooper Sinclair, age 100, widow of John T. Cooper, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Pruitt Health – Aiken.

She was born on October 27, 1924 in Shoshone, Idaho and was the daughter of the late Loyd Tankersley and Mandy Stapleton Tankersley. Jessie retired from JP Stevens, Whitmire Plant. She was a member of Whitmire Pentecostal Holiness Church, loved her church, baking delicious cakes and an avid reader.

Jessie is survived by her daughter Ree Hayes (Bill) of Aiken and their children, Maxwell Hayes and Grant Hayes; Mr. Cooper’s children, Dawn Brewer (Robert), Rick Cooper (Tiffany), Marilyn Cooper and John Cooper (Melissa); six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and numerous very special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jessie is preceded in death by her son, Wayne Cooper; her three siblings, Gladys Trent, Betty Ruth Hall and Richard Tankersley.

The family would like to thank the staff of PruittHealth – Aiken and Pruitt Hospice for the love and care given to Jessie.

Private Funeral Services will be held for the family at Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
