Jeremy Wade McWatters

Jeremy Wade McWatters, age 48, of McWatters Drive, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026 at Hospice of Laurens County, surrounded by the people who loved him most.

Born September 19, 1977, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Tommy Eugene McWatters and Deborah Bashoor McWatters of Clinton.

Jeremy was truly a friend to everyone he met. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and his presence could fill a room. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who loved his family more than anything.

Jeremy enjoyed working in the garage with his dad and son, playing video games, Pokémon, spending time with his family, cooking different types of food, and figuring out how things worked. If it involved electronics, there was a good chance Jeremy could fix it. He had a natural ability to take something apart, figure out what was wrong, and somehow make it work again.

Some of his favorite moments were the simplest ones—especially his daily breakfast at Waffle House in Clinton with his dad.

Jeremy leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with them every day. He is survived by his children, Brianna McWatters (Jamey) of Kinards, Savannah McWatters of Clinton, Gaige McWatters (Fiona) of Clinton, and Rebecca McWatters (Kyle) of Clinton; the mother of his children and his best friend, Debbie Mann; his brother and sisters, Tommy McWatters of Clinton, Mandy McWatters of Baltimore, Maryland, and Nadine Mintern (Micah) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Aurora, Eleanor (on the way), Avery, Lynlee, Cameron, Serenity, and Kylah; and his special nieces and nephews, Rachel Davis (Wayne), Tommy McWatters, Skyland Davis, Faythe McWatters, Adalina Moore (Stevie), Chance Moore, Miles Mintern (Alana), Braegen, Kayson and Kenler, Josh Mintern, and Maddie Mintern (Allen), along with a host of special friends and extended family who were blessed to know and love him.

He is also survived by his beloved cat, Blossom, who held a special place in his heart.

Jeremy’s life was made up of the people he loved, the memories he created, and the little everyday moments that meant more than he ever knew. Though his time with us was not long enough, the love he gave his family will continue through his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and everyone who had the privilege of calling him family or friend.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A special gathering to celebrate Jeremy’s life will be held at a later date.
