James Larry Wallen

James Larry Wallen, age 76, of Whitmire, widower of Brenda Childers Wallen, was called into everlasting peace by his Heavenly Father, Sunday, May 18, 2025 at his home.

He was born May 13, 1949 in Union, SC, and was the son of the late Mae Wallen. He was a simple man who valued and appreciated the basic, uncomplicated things in life. Larry found happiness in his family, sacrificing so much of himself so that they could have more than he ever did. His inner strength allowed him to overcome many challenges in life, and he was proud to have earned everything he had through hard work and determination.

Larry cherished his time spent hunting, fishing, and with his beloved hunting dogs. He was a man of character—humble, sincere, thoughtful, respectful, and straightforward. Deeply devoted to his faith, Larry loved the Lord, though he often felt unworthy of His love and forgiveness. May the Lord's grace be bestowed upon our loving father for eternity. (James 4:6)

Larry is survived by his children, Travis Wallen (Jenny), and Tracy Pridham; his grandchildren, Trent Thompson, and Kaitlynn Wallen; and his sister, Sandra Garner.
