James "Jimmy" Cagle

James R. “Jimmy” Cagle died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at his home in Clinton. Born February 12, 1938, he was educated in the Laurens County Schools and graduated from Lander College.
Mr. Cagle was retired from Whitten Center. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Clinton, where he served as an usher for over forty years.
He was a loving husband, uncle, and grandparent. Mr. Cagle is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Annette Smith Cagle, a sister, Annie Ruth, “children” Richard Blackmon, Sr. (Leah), Robin Huff (Peter), Raury Montgomery (Jim), Guy G. Smith, III, Gwen Hooten (Greg), “grandchildren” Rick Blackmon, Jr., (Stephanie), Ginny Moulton (Eric), Jamie Huff (Jacob Herman), Jay Montgomery (Stacy), Joshua Montgomery, Jordan Montgomery, Brian Hooten (Sherri), Nikki Hooten, Anna Hooten, and four great “grandchildren”, He was pre-deceased by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Clinton with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home, 104 York Street, Clinton, SC 29325, on Wednesday evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
