Harvey L. Foster, age 93, of 303 Finney Drive, died June 30, 2013, at Hospice of Laurens County.
He was born in Gastonia, NC to the late Samuel C. and Bessie P. Foster. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984 after 39 years of service and worked part time at Bishop Tire for over 25 years. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton, the American Legion Post 56, and the Kiwanis Club.
Mr. Foster is survived by his wife, Vera S. Foster, of the home, a daughter Jean (Keith) Burbage, two sons, Mike (Susan) Foster and Gary Foster; step-children: Sheila Dixon (Bruce), Danny Snow (Rhonda), and Ashley Stanford (Rick); two sisters, Dorothy Trammell and Martha (Richard) Watts; two stepchildren; six grandchildren: Julie Windsor (Ken) Whaley, Jeffrey Windsor, Michael (Tammy) Foster, Greg (Melissa) Foster, Jessica Foster Ferguson, and Eric Foster; four step-grandchildren: Jason Burbage, Jon-Michael Burbage, Stephen Crawford and Jason Crawford; ten step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 49 years, Myrtle Trammell Foster, as well as by six brothers: Harry Foster, Paul Foster, Lloyd R. Foster, Charlie Foster, Richard D. Foster, and one sister: Laura Burns.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Clinton followed by burial at
Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The family will be at the homes of Vera Foster, 303 Finney Drive, Clinton, SC and Jean Foster Burbage, 368 Topsail Dr., Waterloo, SC.
