George Calvin Holman, 73 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Gainesville, GA and was a son of the late Herbert D. and Thelma Vandiver Holman.
Mr. Holman was the owner of Laurens Tool, Inc., was a veteran of the SC National Guard, a life member of Palmetto Masonic Lodge #19, member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple and the Laurens County Shrine Club. He was also a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Samuel McGowan Camp #40.
He is survived by his fiancé, Carolyn Huey; brothers, Herbert Holman, Jr. and wife, Betty of Gainesville, GA, James Holman and wife, Janette of Laurens, Charles Holman and wife, Sharon of Clinton; a sister, Dorothy Shaw and husband, Joe of Atlanta, GA.
He is also survived by his special nephew, Stanley Holman and wife, Jessica of Laurens and his special family member, Steve Lanford of Laurens; also eight nephews and 2 nieces.
Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 3rd at 11:00 a.m.at Forest Lawn Cemetery, employees of Laurens Tool will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:00p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Laurens.
The family will be at the home of his brother, James and Janette Holman, 400 Hilldale Ave., Laurens, SC
