Edgar "Ed" Eugene Montjoy

Edgar “Ed” Eugene Montjoy, age 87, of 1772 Boyds Mill Pond Road, and widower of Dorothy Sumeral Montjoy, passed away on September 25, 2016, at NHC of Laurens.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late Ernest and Octavia Burch Montjoy.
Mr. Montjoy was retired from Local Pipe Fitters Union 391 and was known as a mechanic and expert lawn mower repairman. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of Henderson Baptist Church for 50 years.
He is survived by six sons, Bobby Montjoy (Darlene) of Laurens, David Montjoy (Jeannie) of Laurens, Steve Montjoy (Carolyn) of Camden, NC, Kenneth Montjoy (Janet) of Laurens, Donnie Montjoy of Columbia, and Ronnie Montjoy (Jenny) of Laurens; two daughters, Kathy Harvey (Ray) of Laurens, and Susan Hughes of Gray Court; two sisters, Emma Jane Calloway of Alabama, and Mildred McNinch of Rock Hill; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Montjoy was predeceased by a son, Lonnie Montjoy; three brothers; and four sisters.
The family wishes to thank the staff of NHC of Laurens for the loving care they provided their father.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 28th, at 2:00 PM, at Henderson Baptist Church, 207 Henderson Church Road, Gray Court, with Pastor Bryan Atkinson officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on Tuesday at Gray Funeral Home of Laurens.
