Dwight Franklin Crisp, age 78, widower of Mary Lois Crisp, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at his home.
Born March 15, 1948 in Whitmire, SC, he was the son of the late Obed Abijah Crisp and Pauline Tankersley Crisp. Dwight was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a Mason with the Cross Hill Masonic Lodge #159, volunteer at the Cross Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Dwight was a lover of the outdoors; he loved hunting along with fishing and camping and was an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan. He was a good and faithful man of God, loving father, husband, and pawpaw.
Dwight was a member and former Deacon at First Baptist Church of Cross Hill.
He is survived by his children, Dwight F. Crisp, Jr. ( Jennifer), and Angela Shoemaker (Jesse); his grandchildren, Blaine Crisp (Lucy), Paige Crisp (Jaylin), Riley Weisner (Amber), Kiley Weisner (Amee), McKenzie Crisp, Sommer Shoemaker, Brooke Weisner (Riley), Autumn Shoemaker, and Jay Shoemaker; his great-grandchildren, Grayden Crisp-Wyatt, Maleiya Crisp-Wyatt, Jayce Crisp-Wyatt, Riley Weisner, Jr., Rose Weisner, Crystal Jayde Weisner, Reggie Wellborn, and Jason Weisner; and his siblings, David Crisp (Trena), Wesley Crisp (Karen), and Carolyn Wessinger (Doug).
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Cross Hill at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Robert Flemming and Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
The family will greet visitors Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 6-8 PM, at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Cross Hill, PO Box 126, Cross Hill, SC 29332, or to VIA Health Partners, PO Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325.
