Doris Baldwin Milam, age 98, widow of Marian E. Milam, Sr., passed away, Monday, at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
Doris was born in on March 31, 1926 in Clinton, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late William Coke Baldwin, Sr. and Lucia McIlwain Baldwin. She is the last surviving member of the Baldwin family. Doris attended Winthrop University and later transferred to Presbyterian College where she majored in Commerce. During her college years, she was a member of Alpha Phi Delta, Secretary of the Student Christian Association, and staff member of the Physician’s Assistant Study Program. After graduation, she began her career teaching at Hampton Ave. Elementary School and Martha Dendy. She was also a devoted member of Clinton First Presbyterian Church.
Doris is survived by her son, Mike Milam (Bootsie), her grandchildren, Brian Milam and Amy Wilkie (Paul); her great-grandchildren, Sarah and Bree Wynn; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Presbyterian Community Chapel of Clinton at 10:30 AM with Rev. Debbie Johnson officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Hospice of Laurens County, P O Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325.
