Clifton Moorhead Adair, age 52, of 106 Bent Road and 29105 Hwy 76 Kinards , died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Self Regional Healthcare.
He was born in Clinton and was the son of James R and Joan Young of Kinards, and John Thomas Adair of Hickory, NC.
Mr. Adair was an alumni of the Clinton High School class of 1978, and made many life long friends. He played center for the 3-A Championship Football team and in 1977 had a record of 14-0 . This team played together all throughout high school. He later attended Gardner Webb College in Boiling Springs, NC and Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood. Cliff was an employee of Clinton Newberry Natural Gas, owned aLawn Care Company, and was an Independent Insurance Adjuster. He was a classic car enthusiast, avid water sportsman, and loved spending time with his children.
He is survived by his children Cassandra Sease Adair, and Richard Brandon Brooks Adair both of Greenwood; a brother, Richard Vaughan Adair (Beverly) of Mount Pleasant; a half sister Emily Nicole Adair; his nieces and nephews, Christian and Grae Adair of Mount Pleasant; and a special friend Patricia McBride.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton C Adair, Mr. and Mrs. Dick M Vaughan, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Young and a infant sister.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
