Cheryl Ann Martin

Cheryl Ann Martin, age 79, passed away April 20, 2026 at the Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 11, 1947 in La Junta, Colorado and was the daughter of the late Dexter W. Hess and Violet Fern Folsum Hess. She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam War. Cheryl served as a pastor in Hays, KS through the United Methodist Church. Her current membership is the Laurens First United Methodist Church. Cheryl had a servants heart, and if you knew her you had been blessed.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Donald Ray Martin; her daughter, Sheryl Lynn Reith (David Baron Reith); her grandchildren, Dexter Dale Briscoe and Tabitha Nicole Coxon (Robert Leo Coxon); her great-grandchildren, Lily Lynn Briscoe, Lyle Ryder Briscoe, and Piper Violet Briscoe; her brother, Monty Folsum (Ann); and her sister, Elsa Barela.

A celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 27th at 5:00 P.M. in the Laurens First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gray Stallworth officiating.

The family will receive friends following the services in the church fellowship hall.
