Catherine Annette Thomason, nee Weatherspoon of Clinton, SC. Annette died Saturday, March 21st at her home after a lingering illness. She was 87 years old.

Annette was born December 16, 1938 in Trumann, Arkansas. Her family moved to Wayne, Michigan during WWII. She graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1957 and one year later married her husband, Bob Thomason. She and her husband would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in May of this year.

Annette attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN and the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.

Annette was a licensed cosmetologist working in Michigan. Later she opened her own shop in Jefferson City, Tennessee. While her husband was in Seminary, Annette worked as a Traffic Study Clerk at Central and Southern Motor Freight Tariff Association in Louisville, Kentucky. When she and Bob moved their family to Columbia, South Carolina Annette worked at McKay, Shen-ii, Walker and Townsend Law Firm as Receptionist, Clerk, and Bookkeeper.

In Clinton, SC, Annette worked for the Central Office of the South Carolina Department of Mental Retardation (later changed to South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.) While there she served as Data Entry Clerk, Data Control Clerk, Office Manager and Co-Manager of the Central Warehouse. Annette retired in 1991 to spend more time at home. Soon she took a job as Office Secretary at Clinton First Baptist Church. She also worked at the Worley Chiropractic Clinic.

Annette's favorite leisure activity involved painting with oil or watercolor, drawing or doing calligraphy. She loved to travel. She loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and knew that Jesus loved her. She was an active member of Clinton First Baptist Church serving in various capacities over the years. Annette had a beautiful soprano voice and sometimes sang in the choir. She always looked forward to going on the Family Mission Trips with her church family.

Annette was a full-time wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband loved each other through all the ups and downs of life. Annette was predeceased by her mother, Frances Mae Holtcamp. She is survived by her husband, Bob, and their children, Robert Darin Thomason, Ronald David Thomason (wife, Robyn) and Rebecca Dean Thomason; by five grandchildren, Cami, Coy, Patricia, Grace and Sara; and by nine great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank all the friends, neighbors, church members, extended family and other loved ones for the prayers and support through Annette's long illness. God bless you each and everyone.

Her Memorial Service will be at Clinton First Baptist Church at 10:30 A.M. On Friday March 27, 2026. The family will greet friends following the service in the sanctuary.
