Carlton "Red" Christian Hall

Carlton “Red” Christian Hall, 83, of Whitmire, SC passed away at home on Friday, 27 February 2026 with his wife Judy and family members by his side.

Known to his friends as “Red” because of his red hair in his youth. He was born on April 11th, 1942 to Carlton Edward Hall and Margaret Elise Christian Hall in Whitmire, SC.

He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 65 years, Judy Green Hall. She was the love of his life. His two sons, Michael “Mike” (Joye) Hall of Whitmire, SC and Robert “Robby” (Meredith) Hall of Chapin, SC. Grandchildren Christian Hall (Beth Fahs), Alicia Hall, Erica (Dylan) Fallaw, Anna Hall (Zach Smith), Emma Hall, Ethan Hall, and Elise Hall. Great Grandchildren, Stella Hall, Phoebe Hall, Aleigha Lindsay, Cooper Smith, and Sawyer Smith.

He was a life-long resident of Whitmire, except for a short stay in Columbia, SC. He graduated from Whitmire High School with a letter in football for four years. He was the team captain and voted “Most Valuable Player” for the 59’-60’ school year. He retired from Young Chevrolet Company after 47 years and worked part-time for Gray Funeral Home during his retirement. He attended Whitmire Presbyterian Church and was a past deacon and elder. He was a life member of the Freemasons and past Worshipful Master of Roseboro Lodge 145. He loved to hunt, travel, and play golf (for as long as he was able).

He is predeceased in death by his father (Carlton Edward Hall), mother (Margaret Elise Christian Hall), sister (Miriam Ray Hodges), and brother (William “Billy” Douglas Hall).

Visitation will be at Whitmire Presbyterian Church from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026

A celebration of a life well lived will be held at Whitmire Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026 with Rev. Brooklynn Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Whitmire Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of Judy Hall in Whitmire, SC.
