Beverly Elizabeth Bishop Holcomb

Beverly Elizabeth Bishop Holcomb, age 85, widow of James Cecil Holcomb, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Prisma Health Laurens County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Fulton County, Georgia on June 21, 1940 and was the daughter of the late William Lawton Bishop and Gladys Elvira McConnell Bishop. Beverly was a loving and devoted military wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was best known as “Granny”. She was also a faithful member of New Life Baptist Church in Ware Place.

Beverly is survived by her children, Cheri Wood of Gray Court, Mark Holcomb (Debra) of Fountain Inn, Christine Harkcom (John) of Gray Court, Carol Schadler (Richard) of Sulfur, LA, Walter Andrew Holcomb (Tina) of Wisconsin; her sister, Constance Campbell of Gray Court; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Beverly is preceded in death by her brother, William L. Bishop and her sister, Judith Hyde.

Funeral Services will be held at New Life Baptist Church on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 12:00 PM. with Rev. Leonard Conner officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Westview Memorial Park.
