Betty Lou Stapleton

Betty Lou Stapleton, age 93, widow of Olin Stapleton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Langston Square Assisted Living.

She was born on February 16, 1932 in Union, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Bill Coleman and Lula Mae Mitchell Coleman. Betty retired from Collins and Aikman Hosiery Mill and was a member of Whitmire First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons. Robert Stapleton (Cathy) of Whitmire, Michael Stapleton (Lynne) of Murrells Inlet, John Stapleton (Chera) of Union; her grandchildren, Christopher R. Stapleton (Natalie), Christopher A. Stapleton (Eva), Brandon Stapleton; her six great-grandchildren, Aughtry Stapleton, Arlynn Stapleton, Cooper Stapleton, Fendley Stapleton, Karson Stapleton and Jacob Daniel.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her brother, Walter Coleman and her grandson, Matt Stapleton.

Graveside Services will be held at Whitmire Cemetery on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Shannon Long officiating.
